Most consulting pricing is designed to be negotiated. Ours is designed to be read. One rate for thinking, one rate for doing — across all four pillars. What follows is the complete economics of working with rethinQ.
The rate card
Thinking and doing are different work. We price them honestly.
Every engagement — Growth, Technology, Security, or People — is built from these two rates. Nothing else is hiding behind them.
Design & Consultation · 1-hour minimum
The thinking — $300/hr
We assess before we advise.
- Executive discovery sessions and structured intake
- Maturity assessments and scored baselines across any pillar
- Gap analysis, strategy roadmaps, and prioritization workshops
- Solution and architecture design before anything is built
- Vendor evaluation, negotiation strategy, and contract review
- Ongoing Associate advisory — your single point of accountability
Who does it: a senior rethinQ Associate — a hands-on strategist with real-world execution experience, working for you, not the vendors.
Execution · 2-hour minimum
The doing — $150/hr
We measure before we build. We stay until it sticks.
- Builds, implementations, integrations, and migrations
- Campaign delivery, content production, and pipeline operations
- Security remediation, hardening, and control implementation
- Assessments delivered in the field — site, system, or team
- Training, coaching delivery, and program rollout
- Documentation, dashboards, and handover that sticks
Who does it: a vetted specialist from the rethinQ collective, matched to the task — and because there's no firm overhead to feed, your dollar goes to the person doing the work.
All rates in Canadian dollars, plus GST. After the minimum, time is billed in 30-minute increments. Retainer, managed-service, and fractional executive engagements (CMO, CTO, CISO, CHRO) are scoped individually — built from these same rates, with the structure agreed before work begins.

$150 — Assessment deployment, coaching delivery, policy development, engagement program rollout.
Security
$300 — Cyber and physical risk assessment, compliance gap analysis, incident response design, security roadmap.
$150 — Control implementation, hardening, site assessments in the field, awareness training delivery, tabletop exercises.

Your first consultation hour comes back
Start with a Design & Consultation session. If the engagement proceeds to execution with rethinQ, your first consultation hour is credited in full against that execution work. We assess before we advise — and if you act on the assessment, the assessment was free.

The Introductory Block
For ongoing or multi-task work, prepay a block of ten pool hours for $1,500. Hours are drawn down as work is delivered, with a clean running ledger — and they're yours to use across the entire year. Explore The Block.
