Technology

Modernize strategically. Not just digitally.

Infrastructure, AI integration, automation, and digital transformation — with a trusted advisor ensuring every technology investment aligns with your business objectives.

The challenge

Everyone sells a stack. Nobody owns the outcome.

The challenge

Cloud vendors, MSPs, AI tool companies, and software resellers are all pitching their stack. Nobody is evaluating your actual technology maturity, and nobody is accountable for whether these investments deliver real business outcomes.

The rethinQ approach

Your rethinQ Associate conducts a full technology maturity assessment, maps the gaps, and sources the right partners for each — from cloud architecture to AI implementation. One advisor coordinating your entire technology roadmap.

Practice Leads · Security & Technology

Operators who have run the systems, not just advised on them.

rethinQ doesn't staff technology engagements with generalists reading from a vendor deck. Our Technology Pillar is led by practitioners who carry the pager — one for the systems you run, one for the systems you build — and a curated specialist network behind them.

Adrian Ghira, Practice Lead — Security & Technology
Practice Lead · Security & IT Operations

Adrian Ghira

Managed Security & IT Operations Practitioner · Security Program and Compliance Advisor · Technology Strategy and vCIO

Adrian founded GAM Tech in 2012 and has run it ever since as a security-first managed services practice — organizations of 20 to 200 users in nine Canadian cities, across energy, aviation, waste and environmental services, professional services, non-profit and municipal sectors. That's fourteen years of being accountable for the systems rather than advising on them, and it shapes how he sees the work: security is an operating discipline, not a product you buy.

He treats security as a measured program rather than an annual audit. Every engagement starts with what an organization actually does day to day, then works backward to controls that will survive contact with real users. GAM Tech is SOC 2 certified and a Certified B Corporation, so the standards Adrian holds clients to are ones he has been audited against himself.

What Adrian delivers
  • Security posture assessments across identity, endpoint, email, and network
  • SOC 2 and compliance readiness, gap analysis, and audit preparation
  • Incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and breach playbooks
  • Managed detection and response design, vendor selection, and oversight

Sector focus: Canadian organizations of 20 to 200 users across energy and oilfield services, aviation, waste and environmental services, professional services, non-profit, and municipal government. GAM Tech is built for organizations large enough to be a target and small enough that security has to be delivered, not just recommended.

In their words
Terence Hong, Practice Lead — Platform Build & Fractional CTO
Practice Lead · Platform Build & Fractional CTO

Terence Hong

Principal, Special Situations Group · Fractional CTO · Platform Build

Twenty years of building software products has taught Terence which builds survive scrutiny and which only survive the demo. Most of his work has been in regulated, audited environments — SOC 2 Type 2, financial services, insurance — where the system has to hold up to an auditor, not just ship on time.

From venture-backed startups to publicly traded companies, he has architected trading systems, AI workflow automation, and mortgage and lending platforms for brokerages and a Canadian bank. One of those automation builds reached 98% for one of the largest insurance wholesalers in the US.

His team is small and senior — every engineer with 15 or more years behind them — and they will talk a client out of spend that won't earn its keep, up to putting their own fees at risk against agreed outcomes. Terence and his partners also serve as fractional CTOs, most notably at RIABiz, taking on both halves of the job: building the thing, then owning it as the technical executive.

What Terence delivers
  • Greenfield platform builds delivered by a senior in-house team
  • Fractional CTO leadership once the build is live
  • Architecture for regulated environments — SOC 2 Type 2, financial services, insurance, lending
  • Trading, mortgage, and lending platform design
  • AI workflow automation for high-volume operations
  • Technical due diligence and build-versus-buy assessment
  • Outcome-based engagements with fees tied to agreed results

Sector focus: Fintech and digital transformation for venture-backed startups through publicly traded companies — brokerages, insurance wholesalers, lenders, and a Canadian bank. His team measures itself on business outcomes rather than delivered code, which in practice means talking a client out of spend that won't earn its keep.

Engagement scope, deliverables, and fees are confirmed in a written Statement of Work.
